Core Federated Identity Services

By providing an Identity Federation MAREN will connect institutions and their users to a worldwide network of millions of students, thousands of identity providers via participating federations which enable collaborations and transactions in 60 countries and growing. Thus students, staff and other users from different institutions nationally and internationally are able to use each others infrastructure seamlessly. This means that a user at Institution A need only authenticate with the ICT services at Institution A even though they may be using WiFi connectivity at Institution B.

Internationally education roaming or EduRoam is a secure WiFi access service developed for the international research and education community. It will allow students, researchers and staff to seamlessly access internet connectivity from any hotspot belonging to a participating institution.
