As the day for the highly anticipated National Open Distance and e-Learning (ODeL) symposium draws closer, the Malawi Research and Education Network is set to showcase its open distance learning services and solutions at the event.
The symposium, which is being organised by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) will be held on 1-2 June 2023 at the Bingu International Conventional Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe and will bring together experts in ODeL to discuss and showcase latest research, trends and best practices in the field.
One of the symposiums’ organising committee members, Samsone Distone says mong others, the event is expected to feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and breakout sessions, and is expected to draw attendees from across the country adding the event programme is going to be released in due course.
“We’re really excited about this year’s symposium,” said MAREN CEO, Solomon Dindi. “As MAREN we have a lot of services and products that are important to ODeL including Learning Management System hosting and deployment, Cloud Services and High Perfomance Computing which we intend to showcase to attendees. We are also looking forward to learn about the challenges the academic institutions are facing in the delivery of ODeL so that we can help in coming up with novel solutions to the challenges.”
