In an effort to better serve the research and education community in Malawi, the Malawi Research and Education Network (MAREN) and Huawei Technologies (Blantyre) Co., Ltd. (Huawei) have announced a new partnership that is expected to leverage on the expertise of the two organisations in providing enhanced services and products to their customers.
MAREN, a not for profit organisation dedicated to providing Internet connectivity and other value added services in learning and research institutions, is partnering Huawei, a global technology company known for its innovative software solutions in a deal that, among others, will see MAREN member institutions procuring Huawei products and services through special deals brokered by MAREN.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Huawei in this deal that we believe will help our clients access and procure critical and state of the art technological equipment and solutions that are key in the delivery of research and educational services. This partnership will make our clients access these services at an affordable fee and also conveniently,” said Solomon Dindi, MAREN Chief Executive Officer.
Huawei Malawi’s Managing Director, Gu Mu has hailed the partnership between the two organisations, stating that it is going to open up a wider market for Huawei in Malawi while ensuring that Malawian academic institutions are able to access high-end technological solutions cost effectively.
