We are pleased to announce that the AFRINIC Board has appointed Mr. Solomon Dindi, CEO of the Malawi Research and Education Network (MAREN), as a member of the Nomination Committee (NomCom) for the 2026 elections of AFRINIC.
The Nomination Committee is established annually by the AFRINIC Board of Directors to identify, recruit, and nominate qualified candidates for key leadership positions within the organization. It plays a critical role in ensuring a fair, transparent, and neutral election process.
Typically composed of representatives from the AFRINIC community, the NomCom oversees nominations for several governance structures, including the AFRINIC Board of Directors, the Governance Committee, the NRO Number Council / ASO Address Council, and the Policy Development Working Group Co-Chairs.
Mr. Dindi joins other appointed members in supporting the integrity of the upcoming electoral process, which will culminate at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Dindi said:
“Following a prolonged period of legal challenges that affected AFRINIC’s operations, I am pleased to contribute to the upcoming elections at the AGM.”
The AFRINIC Board has expressed full confidence in the Nomination Committee to discharge its responsibilities with impartiality, diligence, and the highest standards of integrity.
